Birds of Paradise : 

This vibrant & uplifting artwork 'Birds of Paradise' incorporates stunning tropical foliage & colours to celebrate Summer. Colourful birds from all over the world are featured and it wouldn't be complete without our favourite bird - the NZ Tui.

Lucy has created this artwork from many photos she have taken in NZ and overseas and like a painter uses a paintbrush she use photography to illustrate her visions.

Featured birds clockwise from blue bird at top include Indian Ringneck (India), King Parrot (Australia), Sun Conure (Colombia), Tui (NZ) and the Alexandrine Parrot (SE Asia, India).

Inspiration: A celebration of the exquisite beauty of nature set in a lush, exotic & utopian setting.

Process : Many photographic 'pieces' have been composed to illustrate this vision, with overlays of digital filters to produce a digital mixed media work with flamboyant colours – the work looks more like a painting than a photograph.

Printing & framing options : The most cost effective option is a stretched canvas (A) where the circular image is printed onto a white square canvas which is ready to hang.  With stretched canvas in white frame orders (B) the circular image is printed onto a square canvas and framed with a white timber frame. With art paper prints in frames (D), the frame is a contemporary chunky white box frame and the art paper is a thick water colour looking archival paper. The print spans to the outer edge of the frame, with no photo matt necessary. With the large 1200mm wide circular framed works (F) the artwork is printed direct to the back of a circular piece of acrylic and framed in a locally produced custom made white circular frame (13kgs). Hanging this work can be done conventionally with a heavy duty picture hook into studs. View the images included in this listing for details relating to printing & mounting options.
